The house is a new build – built entirely of natural materials (mud & brick), so it’s cool in summer and warm in winter. The house and garden are designed and built by two local French architects, and internationally renowned landscape gardeners – Eric Ossart and Arno Maurières. The interior is designed by well-known interior designer François Gilles.
It’s fully staffed and very comfortable. The salons are done up in a traditional African style; the dining room is dominated by an old Moroccan tent lining fabric strip which hangs round the room. Both salons and dining room have large French windows which open directly onto the courtyard.
The courtyard is wonderfully light, and the main house terrace is a sun-trap – with a cool shaded area, and all fully furnished with comfortable outside furniture. The studio terrace is used mainly by the staff, for hanging out washing and so-on.
The house is equipped with a wireless internet connection.
